At the executive meeting of the Republican Party of Grant County, Chairman David Kuhle from Hazel Green announced he is running in 2010 for the 49th District seat in the Wisconsin Assembly.
“I am a conservative Republican who believes that good government allows folks to keep as much of their earnings as possible. Tax relief will create jobs. We must lower health care costs and end record government borrowing.”
Dave grew up on the family farm, earned college degrees in math and education, and worked at the Dubuque Pack, a foundry and in sales before returning to the farm with his wife, Lois, to raise their six children. “The votes of Phil Garthwaite have increased your costs for insurance and health care, for electricity and education, for everything you buy. He told businesses to take their jobs and leave Wisconsin, and buried this state under a mountain of debt. It is time to elect an experienced, conservative public servant to fix our economy and stop government bailouts for those too big to fail.”
For over 30 years, Dave helped make good public policy as a private citizen – as the Young Farmer member on the board of directors of the local farm bank, as president of a regional dairy cooperative, as a Farm Bureau director, as a director for the largest farm bank in Wisconsin, and as a Southwestern school board member for twelve years and as a director of the school district’s self-managed health care plan.
“I helped lower costs and improve the health care for our hundred employees and their families. We balanced our school budget every year with no referendums to raise taxes, at the same time we put computers, the internet, and long-distance broadband learning into every classroom.”
“In personal and public life, I have always stretched a dollar to cover costs while improving the organizations I helped to lead. Reckless spending is unacceptable.”
After dairy farming for 34 years, Dave retired from dairying, farms with his sons and is a licensed home builder. Dave and Lois have been married for 31 years.
“I trust public servants, not career politicians. I am not running for office to be someone important. I am running to do something important – to use my experiences to reform government for you.”
